Chabad of the Gardens is focused on serving the Jewish communities of Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Parkside, Middle Village, Glendale, Ridgewood & Woodhaven, Queens. Neighborhoods, rich in culture, architecture and class, like Judaism.

Chabad of the Gardens is unique in the sense that it is a "boutique style" community center, concerned with and focused on personal growth, connection between man and fellow man, and of course the connection between man and G‑d. We serve to assist each individual in cultivating a respect and care for mankind as well as love and reverence for the Al-mighty G‑d.

What they offer

Chabad of Forest Hills is a Chabad house in Kew Gardens, led by Rabbi Mordechai Zev Hecht.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a Hebrew school and a children's club.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center visits patients in hospital, serves military personnel, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
