What is Chabad? The Chabad Jewish Centre (Chabad of Kirkland) is a unique organization that fosters Jewish awareness, knowledge, and practice through educational and social services.

Chabad serves individuals and families looking for a non-judgmental, accepting, personal Jewish experience. At Chabad you are part of our large, loving, extended Jewish family.

Rabbi Shmuel Cohen grew up in Montreal. He received his first rabbinic degree from the Lubavitz Central Yeshiva in Brooklyn, New York, and his rabbinical ordination from the Rabbinical College of Canada.

While completing his rabbinical and postgraduate studies he spent seven years leading services and community outreach in Russia, Africa, Greece, and Israel. In the United States, he visited small communities to teach and guide local Jewish people.

What they offer

Chabad of Kirkland is a Jewish community centre in Kirkland, led by Rabbi Shmuel Cohen.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held.

For children there is a children's club.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at circumcisions and funerals. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center distributes food packages.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
