Chabad is a worldwide movement, with over 4000 branches all around the world, whose purpose is to offer every Jew, regardless of their backgrounds, practices, or affiliation the opportunity and the means to discover and connect with their Jewishness at their own pace and in their own level. Although Jews’ relationship with their Judaism had gone through various changes in last few hundred years, Chabad feels every Jew deserves the opportunity to explore their Judaism in its original and authentic form the way it has been practiced for thousands of years since its origins until today. Chabad’s unique ways of blending the wisdom of Chassidism together with the warm and fun down-to-earth approach makes Chabad one of the most meaningful and uplifting experiences of all times.
Now, the Jews of the Shenandoah Valley have a Chabad House of their own as well! Our goal is to provide with all Jewish needs, from Holiday services and meals to social events, from classes to just being a friendly ear ready to hear you in times of need.
Rabbi Mordy and his wife Nomi together with their kids, moved here less than 5 years ago to mainly serve the Jewish students at JMU, and thank G-d it’s been amazing. As time went along, they continued encountering Jews outside of the JMU community who were very interested in what Chabad had to offer and so Chabad Of The Shenandoah Valley is excited to open its doors to any and all Jews in the Valley. Our firm believe is that a Jew is a Jew is a Jew. Period. And, every Jew is welcome!
