What is Chabad at UVA? Chabad at UVA serves as a home away from home for Jewish students on campus. It provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can connect with Jewish life in a meaningful and accessible way.
Whether attending a Shabbat dinner or stopping by during the week, students are welcomed into a space that emphasizes community, connection, and personal growth. The goal is to support each student in developing a relationship with Jewish tradition, values, and identity.
Chabad at UVA is committed to fostering a lasting connection to Judaism, the Jewish people, the Torah, and the Land of Israel.
All Jewish students are welcome, regardless of background or level of observance. There are no membership requirements or participation fees.

Chabad of Charlottesville is a Chabad house in Charlottesville, led by Rabbi Shlomo Mayer.
There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. A mikveh is available.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held.
Couples are prepared for marriage.
