Chabad of Oberlin College

Campus Chabad House

Chabad of Oberlin is a warm, inclusive Jewish home for students at Oberlin College. Shabbat dinners, holidays, classes, and community.

Chabad of Oberlin serves the Jewish community of Oberlin College, providing a space to connect, learn and celebrate Judaism. Walk into Chabad on Friday night for fresh challah, steaming soup, and deep discussion, or drop by any day of the week for creative Jewish programs, meaningful events, classes, and one-on-one learning. No Jewish knowledge is needed: Chabad welcomes all students and faculty, of every background, age, and degree of observance.

We're inspired by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, who taught the importance of making this world a brighter place by building unity, growth, joy, and connection. At Chabad of Oberlin, we strive to create an inclusive space for all students, regardless of affiliation, background, gender, or identity.

Throughout the year, we offer weekly Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, creative Jewish programs and events, classes and one-on-one learning, and a welcoming student lounge.

Originally from Los Angeles, Yisroel was a content editor and curriculum researcher for Jewish curriculum projects before becoming a full-time rabbi. He draws on his passion for Jewish history and mystical works to give fascinating, relevant Torah lectures. In his free moments, Yisroel enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
