Chabad at Ithaca College is dedicated to supporting the spirit and growth of Jewish life at Ithaca College.
Rabbi Raffy Filler is the director of Chabad at Ithaca College, and has traveled across the American continent leading Jewish education and activities for the past decade. He directed religious programming in Caracas, Venezuela for two years, where he taught classes on Jewish thought to both children and adults. In addition to learning Spanish, it was there that his passion for fostering Judaism in isolated Jewish communities was sparked. Rabbi Raffy has served as a Rabbinical intern at Chabad on Campuses across the country, including Chabad at CU Boulder, Chabad at UNF, and Chabad at Texas A&M, receiving his Rabbinical ordination in 2019. He spent a year in Austin, TX as the program director for Chabad at UT where he led Jewish student activities, before taking on his current role in Ithaca. While he’ll never be sure whether he’s an Aggie, Longhorn, or an Osprey, Rabbi Raffy brings his vast experience working with college students to the IC Jewish community.
At Chabad you will find a non-judgmental atmosphere, where being Jewish is relevant, alive and exciting. We are a place where all Jewish students can feel welcome and at home, regardless of affiliation or observance.
We invite you to participate in our programs, join us in our home for a Friday night Shabbat dinner, or just stop by to hang out.
Chabad at IC is dedicated to supporting the spirit and growth of Jewish life at Ithaca College. We seek to imbue a sense of Jewish identity and belonging by creating a warm and inclusive environment. We engage students at their own pace and comfort level through innovative, educational programs in all areas of Jewish life. We strive to assist every Jew connected to this campus in exploring their Judaism, each at their own pace and comfort level. We want to ensure that all Jewish students graduate as stronger, more empowered Jews, creating a powerful generation of Jewish leaders.
