Rabbi Mendel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he lived till age 9. After emigrating to Montreal, Canada together with his family, he studied in Canada, France & the US. Rabbi Mendel has been involved in Jewish outreach & youth programming throughout the US and as far as Peru, Argentina, Cuba & Ukraine. He received Rabbinical Certification and is a certified Mohel.

Rochie was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. She has engaged in various outreach activities throughout Canada and the US. She has been involved in Early Childhood Education for nearly a decade and is passionate about bringing Judaism to life through joyful experiences.

What they offer

Chabad of Columbia County is a Chabad house in Hudson, led by Rabbi Mendel Kremer.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Kosher meals are available on a meal plan. They kosher kitchens for the community. There is a mikveh for men.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held.

For children there is after-school programmes.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, serves military personnel, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.
