Rabbi Sruli Deitsch was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and received his Rabbinical Ordination from the Central Chabad Yeshiva in Crown Heights after studying in New York, Toronto, France, and Israel. Inspired by a lifelong love of Torah and community, he developed a passion for sharing Judaism and building meaningful relationships. His wife, Mushka Deitsch, was raised as a Chabad emissary in Atlanta, Georgia, earned her teaching degree from Beth Rivka Division of Higher Learning, and brings warmth, creativity, and extensive experience in education and community programming.

In 2011, Rabbi Sruli and Mushka moved to Southern Westchester with a vision to enrich Jewish life in Eastchester and the surrounding communities. Together, they are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where individuals and families can connect with Judaism in meaningful, joyful ways. They look forward to getting to know you and helping you feel at home.

What they offer

Chabad Jewish Center is a Chabad house in Eastchester, led by Rabbi Sruli Deitsch.

There is a synagogue on the premises. A kosher store is run here. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a Hebrew school, after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, distributes food packages and provides humanitarian aid.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
