Chabad of Mid Suffolk strives to ensure Jewish continuity through increasing Jewish pride, knowledge, and commitment and works to overcome differences between Jews by creating a caring, non-judgemental environment. We believe in the right of every Jew to experience the beautiful treasures of our Jewish heritage, regardless of religious background or financial status.

For these reasons, Chabad is committed to provide a wide variety of educational, religious, and social services, according to the teachings of The Lubavitcher Rebbe , toward the goal of making our world a fitting dwelling place for G‑d.

What they offer

Chabad of Mid Suffolk is a Chabad house in Commack, led by Rabbi Mendel Teldon.

There is a synagogue on the premises. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a Hebrew school.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction, a bar mitzvah club and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners and looks after the elderly.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here.
