ChabadBeacon.comSynagogue in Beacon, New York, led by Rabbi Shaya Itkin.
Hello there! It's Rabbi Shaya here. I was raised as the son of the local Chabad Rabbi in Scranton, Pennsylvania (just a short drive down the 84), I studied at Yeshiva schools in Canada and Israel and received my Rabbinical degree in Manhattan. I've also been involved in Jewish outreach in Peru, Puerto Rico, Florida, and California. Last year we had the privilege of starting a young Jewish professional group in Cincinnati. You could say I love to travel, but now that I finally settled in Beacon in September of '23, I'm here to stay–and I can't wait to meet you!
Hi! I'm Esty. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and, judging by the way I'm still waiting for people to honk at me at red lights, you can tell that I'm a City girl. I'm lucky to have worked at many Chabad centers nationwide, sharing the joy of Torah with Jews all over the continent. I spent a year studying in Israel, then another directing the youth and teen programming in Seattle, WA, and then went on to teach at two Chabad elementary schools in Brooklyn. I'm so thrilled to continue using my talents and creativity here in Beacon to share the beauty of Judaism and be there for the next generation.
Together, our goal is to create a warm and vibrant community for Jewish life here in Beacon: a place where everyone is welcome, valued, and a part of the family.
