Seniors in nursing homes, patients in rehabilitation centers, and individuals recovering at home often lack the support of family or friends nearby. Some have loved ones who want to help but are overwhelmed by life's demands. As a result, those who are sick, vulnerable, or struggling often feel isolated and forgotten during critical times when they most need comfort and connection.

For some, this isolation is made worse by not having a connection to their Jewish identity or faith. Many people have never had the opportunity to learn about Judaism or participate in its traditions. Perhaps they didn't grow up with Jewish education, felt uncomfortable walking into a synagogue, or simply never had a way to engage with their heritage in a meaningful and accessible way. In moments of crisis, this lack of connection can make the journey even lonelier, as individuals miss out on the comfort, purpose, and strength that spiritual care can provide.
