Our Community Hama'or Shul and Community Centre is a holistic environment in which all Jews can feel comfortable whilst davening and learning, based on the teachings and ethos of Chassidus

Hama'or Centre was established in 2007 in the main centre of the observant Jewish community in Johannesburg, South Africa. Hama'or plays a unique role within this neighbourhood to counter the observant communities’ tendency toward insularity, and to cross-pollinate between different communities and different streams of thought. This has been achieved by creating an unequalled environment in which all Jews can feel comfortable whilst davening and learning. Our centre is based on Chassidic teachings, together with Halacha, Gemara and all other areas of Jewish learning. Halachik + Mystic = Holistic
