To many people, Chabad of Venice means many things — and its doors are open to all.
A man once came to the Lubavitcher Rebbe to thank him for dispatching an emissary to bring the joy of Judaism to a “little Jew in a wayward community.” The Rebbe responded:
“There is no such thing as a 'little Jew' or a 'wayward community.' In the scope of G‑d's master-plan, the fate of a single soul holds the same cosmic significance as that of the entire world.”
That outlook is the guiding principle behind everything Chabad of Venice does — every program, every class, every open door.

- The main Shofar sounding of the year — services from 9:30 AM, then the Buffet Kiddush Luncheon and Tashlich.
- Evening services with hakafot dancing, then Yizkor at 12:00 PM the next day.

What they offer
Chabad of Venice & North Port is a Chabad house in Venice, led by Rabbi Sholom Ber Schmerling.
There is a synagogue on the premises. They kosher kitchens for the community.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held.
For children there is after-school programmes and a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction and a bat mitzvah club.
They officiate at circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, serves military personnel and looks after the elderly.
