Chabad Brighton welcomes all members of the Jewish community to participate in our programs and services, weekly Shabbat dinners, Torah study classes and holiday celebrations.

For over thirty-nine years Chabad Brighton has been a hub of Jewish connection, growth and impact.

Establishing Chabad Brighton in 1987, Rabbi Pesach and Penina Efune have been spreading the light of judaism and uniting the community of Brighton and Hove.

Rabbi Pesach Efune, was born and educated in South Africa and attended yeshivot in Israel, Venezuela, Morristown and New York, where he received his Rabbinical Ordination.

Shabbat candle lighting time in Brighton & Hove this week is at 19:06.
No morning services at Chabad House; however, the BNJC will be hosting a daily minyan Sunday to Friday at 7:30am.

What they offer

Chabad-Lubavitch Brighton is a Chabad house in Brighton, led by Rabbi Pesach Efune.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. Accommodation for guests can be arranged. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged, courses from the Jewish Learning Institute are taught and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a Hebrew school, after-school programmes, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have a teen club, bar and bat mitzvah instruction and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, serves military personnel, looks after the elderly and distributes food packages.

There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. The building is wheelchair accessible.
