Tuba Chernitsky was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she was involved in helping her siblings work as the Rebbe’s emissaries. After graduating from the Bais Chomesh Girls High School in Toronto she received a diploma in education from Beth Chana Seminary in Safed, Israel.
Her devotion, energy, and warmth endeared her to Jewish communities in Canada and the United States. With her exceptional love for children and upbeat demeanor, Tuba was a well liked teacher at Milwaukee Hebrew school and Bais Rivka Academy of Montreal.
Rabbi Chanan Chernitsky was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 14 he moved to Winnipeg,MB together with his family.
Rabbi Chernitsky has studied Tanach, Talmud , Jewish Law and Kaballah in Morristown , NJ , Montreal, QC and recieved his rabbinical ordination in Venice Italy, from world renowned rabbis, including Rabbi Shmuel Mordechai Ashkenazi, of blessed memory.

What they offer
Chabad of Newfoundland is a Chabad house in St. John's, led by Rabbi Chanan Chernitsky.
Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held.
For children there is a mother-and-child group.
Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction.
They officiate at funerals.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, serves military personnel and looks after the elderly.
