Texas is home to over 175,000 Jews, the majority of whom have felt the positive influence of the state's 40 Chabad-Lubavitch institutions. For many Jews in Texas, Chabad-Lubavitch is the only place they can learn about their Jewish tradition.

Centers in the areas of Austin , College Station , Corpus Christi , Dallas , El Paso , Ft. Worth , Houston , Rio Grande Valley , S. Antonio & S. Marcos service their respective communities with countless institutions and programs, including schools, synagogues, day camps, mikvaot and a growing variety of outreach, social service and educational opportunities for all ages. Leading these institutions are 61 dedicated Shluchim (Chabad emmisary) couples. That's 122 Rabbis and Rebbetzins, along with their families, leading Jewish communities across Texas.

Chabad Lubavitch worldwide is dedicated to serving Jews of all ages with Ahavat Yisroel regardless of religious background or affiliation.

Comprising multiple organizations and programs. Chabad Lubavitch of Texas provides the education and means to promote Jewish awareness, knowledge and practice through outreach, education and social services ensuring Jewish continuity.

What they offer

Chabad Lubavitch Center Regional Hdqts. is a Chabad house in Houston, led by Rabbi Shimon Lazaroff.

There is a synagogue on the premises. Visitors are welcomed for Shabbat and holiday meals. There is a Judaica shop. They kosher kitchens for the community. There is a mikveh for men.

Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.

For children there is a preschool, a Hebrew school, a children's club and a mother-and-child group.

Older children and young adults have bar and bat mitzvah instruction and a bat mitzvah club.

They officiate at weddings, circumcisions and funerals. Couples are prepared for marriage. A chevra kadisha serves the community.

The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly and runs a free loan fund.
