Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz ז'ל returned to his hometown of Chicago with his wife Esther Rochel 'שתחי in 1976 to grow the presence of the Lubavitch movement throughout Illinois. Through his tireless work, leadership and vision as Founder and Regional Director of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois he expanded its reach tremendously, with more than 40 Chabad Centers and Educational Institutions flourishing state-wide. Since his untimely passing in 2014, his legacy continues to inspire growth and expansion throughout Illinois.
Rabbi Meir Moscowitz is the Regional Director of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois. He is also the Senior Rabbi and Director of Lubavitch Chabad of Northbrook, a position he has held since moving to Northbrook with his wife Miriam in 2003.

Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois is a Chabad house in Chicago, led by Rabbi Meir Shimon Moscowitz.
There is a synagogue on the premises.
Classes run regularly, one-to-one study can be arranged and public lectures are held. There is a library.
For children there is a children's club.
They officiate at funerals.
The center visits patients in hospital, visits Jewish prisoners, looks after the elderly, works with children with special needs, distributes food packages, provides humanitarian aid and runs a free loan fund.
There is a women's group. Mezuzos and tefillin can be checked here. A mitzvah tank goes out from here.
