Chabad of Alabama

Chabad House

Chabad of Alabama is headquartered in Birmingham and serves the entire Alabama Jewish community.

Chabad of Alabama is dedicated to every Jew, based on the biblical precept of “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” and we are committed to providing every Jew with a warm and welcoming environment in which to learn about Judaism. We are glad to serve both individuals and families looking for a non-judgmental and accepting Jewish experience. Chabad offers “Judaism with a Smile,” and a home away from home for everyone who walks through our doors.

Founded by The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M Schneerson of holy blessed memory, Chabad of Alabama and its partners are part of the Rebbe’s worldwide effort to reach, inspire and assist every Jewish person in every corner of the globe. Led by Rabbi Yossi and Mrs Frumie Posner since 1987, Chabad of Alabama is here for you.

Located on three beautiful acres on Overton Road in Mountain Brook, Chabad is the proud home of the Challah Shoppe, JAHM Chai Tots Preschool, Camp Gan Israel, The Jewish Learning Institute, Shabbat and holiday programs, and more.

The Beit Ariel Chabad Center was so named in memory of Emil "Ariel" Hess, by his loving family. Emil greatly admired Chabad for its deep commitment to Torah and Judaism, and to the Jewish community. We at Chabad are honored that this vibrant educational facility, spreading Torah to all, bears the name "Beit Ariel".
